Morgan is coming into her own in this book and the addition of Alisa breaks up the monotony of the story only being about Morgan. Morgan will also face down her father Ciaran. Hunter feels betrayed by the council and is considering leaving his role as a Seeker.

I enjoyed this book and am eager to finish this series and see how it all comes out in the end.

Sweep 12 returns to Morgan's life with some chapters from the viewpoint of her friend Alisa. Morgan's father, Cairan, has escaped from capture by the Witch Council. He come back to kill Morgan by raising another Black Wave of destruction. The black wave will destroy her whole town and kill everyone who lives there. His motive for wanting to kill Morgan is said to be his personal fear that she will somehow become powerful and oppose him. "Its me or you and I choose me," Cairan says. I had difficulty with this book because author Cate Tierman has taken her hatred of fathers to a whole new level. This theme continues an ongoing theme of misandry that has follows Morgan through the whole series. Fathers in the Sweep series are depicted as evil people who murder victim mothers and leave abandoned daughters. But Eclipse takes Cate Tierman's hatred of fathers to a new and disturbing level.

No one who has ever been a father, or has grown up with the love and teaching of a father would write such misandrist garbage about fathers. Fathers love and protect children, sacrificing big parts of our lives to support and nurture them. Fathers just aren't like the fictional Cairan, and a father would not act like to kill his own daughter in a cold "me or you" choice. I found Eclipse difficult and offensive to read because of the level of prejudice that has become a central theme.

In the end Morgan and Alisa are saved by Hunter who removes Cairan's powers, and by Hunter's father who creates a spell that finally manages to stop the black wave for the first time in several hundred years. The final nod to the importance of Hunter's father is too little and too late in a book that is based on the evil of fathers.

I was so addicted to this series and honestly every book was really, really good. I'm sad there isn't more of them!

I have been purchasing the Sweep series from a local bookstore. It was getting quite costly. I have thrilled to have found the series on and at such great rates. The seller wwas prompt and the book is in great condition.
